Who owns the AI transformation agenda?
Most organisations approach AI adoption as a technology problem. They commission a platform, run a pilot and hand ownership to the CIO or CTO.
Dr Harpreet Singh Anand's argument is that this is precisely why most AI programs produce activity but no real change. At Protean, the transformation began at the top: the CEO and board were the first to bring AI into their day-to-day decision-making. AI agents have since been formally embedded in the org chart with job descriptions and performance metrics. And because the company handles some of the most sensitive citizen data in India, they have built internal language models rather than rely on public AI systems.
Join us for a joint session of the India CEO and CHRO Forums with Dr Harpreet Singh Anand, Chief Human Resources Officer of Protean eGov Technologies, which runs the infrastructure beneath India's PAN, NPS and Aadhaar systems. Dr Anand has moved AI transformation from aspiration to operational reality at Protean and his account is deliberately different from the vendor-led narrative that has dominated the conversation so far.
