Businesses have absorbed multiple shocks in the past 5 years — a pandemic that fractured supply chains, trade wars that have weaponised tariffs, and wars in Europe and the Middle East that have remade energy and commodity markets. Each shock has left the world economy subtly (and permanently) changed.
